Garden sheds are commonly known for storage use. They come to mind when you’re cleaning up and can’t find space to store Uncle Frank’s 40-year-old bike he swears is still good and that he’ll fix very soon. Or cousin Heather’s tatty table set that she’s absolutely going to finish one of these days.
This past holiday season, we're sure that getting a garden shed has crossed your mind to store items replaced by new gifts, furniture, or as a space where you can go through and sort items for that fresh New Year start.
At Easyshed, our customers have proven to be nothing short of creative and have shown that when it comes to DIY, your imagination can take you a long way! Garden sheds can be more than storage containers.
Take a look at some of these creative shed uses that will make you go, “Whoa, that was unexpect-shed!”
Wendi’s Art Studio
“I love my new shed. Just what I wanted. Using it for my painting studio/workshop area. First time used this weekend. Very strong and easy to put up. Just need to do the landscaping now and it's done.”
You read it, folks! Wendi loves her shed! Aside from being durable and strong, it has also paved the way for her artistic vision when she turned it into a studio workshop where she paints on canvas and carries out other creative activities with her friends. Creating canvas upon canvas of fun-spirited and uplifting designs.
We’re excited to see how the landscaping turns out, Wendy! Cheers!
Dave’s Weatherproofing Solution
With the delicate process and handiwork required in woodworking, it’s no wonder that Dave wants his lathe safe and protected from the elements.
“I needed a solution for weather proofing a wood lathe I purchased and the Easyshed bike shed provided the perfect option which also allows for easy use of the lathe and excellent ventilation.”
That they do! David gave this shed 5-stars and found it to be a functional shed that passed his discerning needs with flying colours. The hinged double doors and roof that lifts up provides easy access to his lathe so he can work on his craft unimpeded when inspiration hits, and just as quickly close shop when it rains.
Other customers use it for outdoor BBQ, sports equipment storage, and bikes, of course.
The Bike Shed does not take up a lot of space and gives an ample storage solution for your outdoor items. You’ll have space enough for 2 adult bikes, 1 kiddie bike, and still have room for other equipment and tools that you’d rather not have the family drag into the house whilst tracking mud or dirt inside after a fun day out.
Fun memories minus the mess!
Susann’s Workout Lounge
Susann needed a bit of help getting the roof on her Gable Shed. Measuring at 3.75m x 3m, we do recommend having an extra set of hands available to make the assembly easy as can be.
Depending on the experience and tools available, you can very well manage alone, but why do it solo when you can share the experience with a few buddies and get together afterwards for a quick workout?
And in Susann’s case, they wouldn’t have to go far because a gym and lounge area is what she turned her space into!
“Shed is set up as a gym, having two windows gives a cross breeze. Happy with the size. Took two to assemble however needed extra hands to get the roof on.”
Nothing like a fresh breeze while working out! With heart rates going up, calories burning, and the adrenaline running high, you’d want good ventilation throughout so you can focus on proper breathing and your form.
Way to go, Susann!
David’s Path to the Stars
David found our Skillion roof shed design to be ideal for his project. He wanted a shed big enough that can be modified into an observatory where the roof can retract so his trusty telescope can pave the view to the stars above!
He used greased unistruts as sliders to give the Skillion roof’s sloped design the ability to retract and he further secured it with tough concrete separators. He also added insulation and a touch of matte black Rust-Oleum to blacken the shiny insulation – this helps lower light pollution for ideal telescope imaging conditions.
“In a nutshell, the shed served well as a shell for a grander scheme!”, says David.
He’s got the best seat in the house... nestled within his Easyshed under a blanket of stars.
Stefan’s Future Parlor
Stefan needed extra space for his tenant as the main property was pretty small. He was after a solid and easy solution that would not only provide his tenant with much needed space, but also something he could convert for their own personal use somewhere down the line.
"It looks great and I know that it has added value to my rental house. It gave the tenant much needed storage as the house is pretty small. I hope to turn it into a place where my wife can set up her own hairdresser business. I love supporting local Aussie made products too. Thanks again!"
Have no fear! Easyshed is here!
Our Workshop shed was the perfect fit! With its spacious interior and headroom, Stefan knew that having it didn’t just increase his property’s value; it also sparked an idea for a future endeavor.
He hopes to turn it into a parlor and expand his wife’s hairdresser business. Our company had our humble beginnings as a small family business venture too, and we’re rooting for Team Stefan!
